Armed with determination and a fanatical love for post-it notes, I embarked on a mission to stay focused. I transformed my workspace into an oasis of productivity, bidding farewell to beach-themed desktop wallpapers and opting for a clean and minimalist setup instead. However, as the days grew hotter, the temptation to abandon my tasks and seek refuge in the shade became almost unbearable.


But then I discovered the power of taking breaks outside. Instead of succumbing to distraction, I would treat myself to short bursts of sunshine. I’d grab my laptop, find a cozy spot under a tree, and indulge in work while feeling the gentle breeze against my face. Surprisingly, these outdoor breaks invigorated me, allowing me to return to my tasks with a newfound energy and focus.

  • Map Out Your Weeks in Advance: Summer often brings spontaneous plans and unexpected adventures. Along with setting clear objectives, to ensure your work stays on track, grab a planner or calendar and map out your weeks in advance. This way, you’ll have a clear overview of your commitments and deadlines, helping you stay organized and avoiding the panic that comes with last-minute chaos. I personally use a Trello board, a large planner, and a bullet journal for mapping it all out and I can really tell the difference when I don’t write everything down. Much easier to get distracted without it!

Whether you prefer a digital tool or a good ol’ physical planner, find a system that suits your preferences. Tailor it to your needs and make it an extension of your workflow. Remember, being organized doesn’t have to be boring; let your creativity shine through!
